Hi Staffan Peterson, you are one of the co-hosts of the 2024 edition of Five Years Out.
What do you think will exist, or wish to exist, in five years?
In five years, I hope we see concrete examples of how we use new technology to future-proof critical areas such as our economy, job market, environment, and innovation landscape. Specifically, I hope to see tangible contributions from the IT industry towards building a more sustainable Sweden.
I also hope to see a significant increase in the number of students, especially women, choosing to pursue technical education. It's crucial to attract and retain young talent in our industry to maintain our position as global leaders in innovation.
Many of us still wonder how to use AI to create value in our businesses. Will I feel more AI-savvy after the event?
Hyped technology tends to be shrouded in mystery. We see this event as an opportunity to demystify AI and encourage people to start exploring how they can apply the technology in a safe way.
So, the short answer is yes. You can learn a lot about AI at Five Years Out.
If I were only allowed to ask one single question during the event, it should undoubtedly be a good one. Can you make a recommendation?
I am pretty sure that just about all vendors claim that they have an AI solution, and I think it would be interesting to see what’s really behind the curtain. So why not ask:
“How do you leverage AI to enhance your offerings, and what strategies do you have in place to further strenghen your AI capabilities moving forward?”

What do you think will be the most fun at 5YO?
It will be fun to team up with Tahira and create the best event possible. I also look forward to listening to interesting keynotes, being inspired, and to meet people.
For our attendees, I believe the highlight of the day will be to uncover solutions they didn't know existed and immersing themselves in an environment focused on the adventure of tech exploration, rather than sales.
